Barbara Watkins was born on October 6th 1959 at the Missouri
Delta Hospital in Sikeston Missouri to Jackie Dean and Betty Lucille
White. She attended Sikeston High School where she met and
would later marry her childhood sweetheart Jim Watkins. Wasting
no time, they started a family.

Writing in the genre of supernatural/psychological thrillers’ she
loves to evoke a sense of terror and fright like no other for her
readers. In 2005 her novella, ‘Behind the Red Door’ caught the
attention of Escape Artists Studio, and in return they requested the
manuscript for review. Her dream is to one day see her work
adapted to film. Currently she is working on yet another
psychological thriller and promises her readers won’t be
disappointed.

     Synopsis
An underground reporter tells the story of a psychic, condemned to prison, when she fails to
divulge her premonition concerning the assassination of the President of The United States.
Film Producer Dimi Nakov sent Barbara a script written by Sean O'Connor and Chantal Rayner-Burt,
based on a story idea of his entitled, BlindSide. Her initial response was one of surprise and then
curiosity concerning its legitimacy. However, after researching she found Dimi Nakov's credentials to be
impeccable. Graduating in 2008 from South Seas Film and T.V. School, Auckland New Zealand, he holds a
diploma in Documentary Directing. In addition to his long list of professional contributions to film his
short documentary, For Alan, was chosen as one of the Finalists at Wanaka Mountain Film Festival 2010
in Wanaka,New Zealand.

After reading the script for BlindSide, Mrs. Watkins made revisions concerning the main character Becky,
and sent them in to Mr. Nakov. Pleased with the revisions that Mrs. Watkins had made, Mr. Nakov and the
script writers, Sean O'Connor and Chantal Rayner-Burt, decided to use them, giving her final credits in
the short film for voice over and monologue changes for the character, Becky.

In 2010 Mrs. Watkins was invited to discuss her literary writings by several Blogtalk radio hosts such as,
Lawrence J. King, Jeff Miller, Candance O'Donnell and Christy Bradshaw. As well as collaborating on the
short film, BlindSide, she continues to write short stories.  Her novel Hollowing Screams is set to be
released in October 2011.

Director, Dimi Nakov, has been quoted as saying "I am so happy to work with Barbara ..She is an amazing
writer and such a great person and so down to earth..I have no words..I will work with her in the future,
and would like to make many of her books into films.. "
