Journey into the Paranormal, September 4, 2009
By  Rosemary Gilpin -
Barbara, What is important in any story is to describe the emotions of the people. In any book
that deals with the paranormal the people expect to enter into the unknown. You take great
care to introduce them to it in a slow meticulous way. This keeps them guessing what lurks
behind the next door.. Your poems are also good because a person can "feel" the emotion
without physically touching them. Most people would ask ,"why is it possible to touch
emotion" ? If you touch someone's life you have entered into a personal relationship that is
more valuable than all the money in the world. I thank you for sharing your stories with me.
Take care of yourself and your family

Spirituality, Demons & Irony, August 9, 2009
By  Larry Underwood "Author, 'Life Under the Corp... (Scottsdale, AZ) -
Barbara Watkins Nightmares & Daydreams has an almost Rod Serling/Twilight Zone quality;
compelling, at times chilling, and masterfully ironic. This series of nine short stories & poems
is a well written gem; I loved each one, especially the last---"One Scandalous Night in Vegas".
Without giving away the plotline, what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Read
the book to get the irony of that comment.  Watkins has delivered a wonderfully thought
provoking & at times, chilling series of tales. It's a definite "must read" for anyone interested
in expanding their level of consciousness; or just looking to get lost in a bit of spiritual
fantasy.

By  Carole Gill (England) - Nightmares and Daydreams by Barbara Watkins--
Here are some questions:
Enjoy the paranormal? Relish cleverly written stories with vivid characters and intriguing
plots?
Well, this is the book for you then!
The ingredients:
A tragic child ghost--
A story about a con worthy of Alfred Hitchcock.
An evil wind-up toy guaranteed to give you nightmares or worse!
An unbelieveably eerie story about a pact with the devil.
And a wickedly satisfying story of revenge against an erring husband.
(What wife wouldn't chuckle at that)?!
If all this wasn't enough, the author has also added some excellent and hauntingly beautiful
poems.
I'd give it ten stars if I could.
Miss Watkins, I applaud you!

Nightmares and Daydreams will keep you up at night turning the pages. What more do you
want from a book?, October 21, 2009
A Kid's Review
It was, The Nine Billion Names of God, a book of short stories by Arthur C. Clark that first got
me interested in reading over 40 years ago. Now another book of short stories has come
along, Nightmares and Daydreams by Barbara Watkins, that will keep me reading for a long
time to come. As a high school librarian, I read many, many books every year. This is a good
one! It has several well written stories that everyone can enjoy.
